Building Works at Amersham Health Centre
We are delighted to confirm that we have returned to our main building now that all essential maintenance work has been completed at Amersham Health Centre. Please note that our car park remains closed until the porta cabins have been removed from site.
We would like to thank our patients very much for their support and understanding over the last few months. It has been a difficult time and we look forward to returning to our normal ways of working and supporting you once again from our main Amersham Health Centre building
Amersham Health Centre Update - Wearing Face Masks
As per the new guidance, patients coming to GP practices in England are no longer required to wear a face mask unless they have respiratory symptoms. Updated guidance says patients, apart from those with respiratory symptoms, are ‘not required’ to wear a face mask unless they wish to as a ‘personal preference’.
In addition, in non-clinical areas such as offices and social settings, staff do not need to wear masks unless it is a personal preference to, or if there are issues raised by risk assessments.
Those still wishing to wear face coverings, please continue to do so. We have a small supply at the surgery but would ask you to provide your own where possible.
Prescriptions – We are unable to accept paper requests out of reception working hours. Use the Amersham Health Centre website or email email@example.com.
Registrations – Completed forms to be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org or to be given to reception within the time frames noted on the front of the form.
Toilets – There are male and female and disabled toilet facilities available on site.

You can now get proof of your coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination details and test results using the NHS COVID Pass service.
If you have full access to the NHS App, and are registered at a GP surgery in England, you can view and share your COVID Pass for places in England that have chosen to use this service and travel abroad.
Some countries may ask for a negative COVID-19 test result which is visable on the NHS App.
If you do not have full access to the NHS App, you can still get your COVID Pass for places in England that have chosen to use this service.
To get your COVID Pass:
- Log in to the NHS App
- From the homepage select Get your NHS COVID Pass
- Follow the instructions on the screen

We are now using Chain SMS to message patients!
Chain SMS allows us to send text messages to patients. It means we can be much more proactive with communication, messaging you quickly and securely, so you are not waiting around to hear from us!

Responding to simple queries (eg if you had a quick question about your medication)

Send you advice at the end of a consultation
The practice name will always be at the bottom of the message. You won’t be able to reply to them. Please help us to help you by keeping your number up to date. If you don’t want us to contact you in this way please let us know.
Improved Access to GP Appointments
An improved service to access GP appointments has launched in Buckinghamshire and is available to all patients registered with a Bucks GP. This service involves local GP practices working together to offer patients better access to appointments. It means that you can now book an appointment in a practice local to you:
Up until 8pm from Monday to Friday (Amersham Health Centre - Wednesday)
Selected hours on a Saturday (Amersham Health Centre 1 in 8 Saturdays)
9am until 1pm on Sunday and Bank Holidays (at one of the three Improved Access Hubs located across the county)
This should mean that patients also have greater flexibility for routine, bookable appointments. It is, however, not a walk-in service. If you need urgent medical advice after 6.30pm or at a weekend, please phone NHS 111 in the first instance – they will be able to advise you and book an appointment if necessary.
These appointments can be booked through the practice you are registered with, and are being offered from three Improved Access Hubs, located at:
